Highlights of My Contributions
As a User Experience Designer at Mapsted, I played a pivotal role in improving the accessibility and usability of interactive maps for airports, malls, and venues. By focusing on refining design elements and enhancing navigation, I contributed to a seamless user experience across web and app platforms. My work also involved creating responsive layouts for landing pages, email campaigns, and event materials, increasing user engagement.
Additionally, I developed content to showcase Mapsted’s technology through blogs and print media, helping communicate its innovative solutions and strengthening the brand’s identity.
Mapsted is a leading provider of indoor navigation and location-based services, offering highly accurate positioning without the need for external hardware like beacons or Wi-Fi.
Its innovative technology is cost-effective and adaptable across industries like retail, healthcare, and tourism. With features such as wayfinding, personalized marketing, and analytics, Mapsted helps businesses improve customer experiences and streamline operations.

✦ Elevating Accessibility in Interactive Navigation Maps
Refined interactive maps for airports, malls, and venues by designing accessible icons and cohesive visual elements. Created custom iconography to represent various areas within malls across Canada, the U.S., and Dubai, ensuring consistency and clarity. Enhanced the user experience with color schemes tailored for light and dark modes, including color-blind-friendly palettes, to promote inclusivity and improve navigation for all users.
✦ In-Store Navigation Proposal for Uniqlo
Designed a prototype for Uniqlo, enabling users to search for items like jeans, identify stores within a mall that stocked the item, and receive precise in-store directions to its exact location. This innovative solution aimed to streamline the shopping journey, enhance user convenience, and elevate the overall retail experience.

✦ In-Store Stock Locator Prototype for Sobeys
Developed a prototype for Sobeys to assist customers in locating products in-store, such as checking the availability and exact aisle location of specific items like a flavor of kettle chips. Designed for use on shopping cart-mounted iPads or in-store kiosks, this solution aimed to enhance the grocery shopping experience by making item discovery intuitive and efficient.
✦ COVID-19 Tracking App Design
Contributed to the design of a contact reporting app in its initial proposal phase, aimed at helping users track their locations to reduce virus transmission. Focused on creating a simple, intuitive interface that allowed users to easily log their movements and receive timely alerts, promoting safety and informed decision-making during the pandemic.
✦ Indoor Navigation: Leading the World Indoors
Designed and developed a comprehensive patent book, Indoor Navigation: Leading the World Indoors, showcasing Mapsted’s groundbreaking innovations in indoor navigation technology. Structured technical content and visuals to effectively highlight intellectual property and industry leadership.
✦ Responsive Design & Engagement
Designed responsive layouts for web/apps, landing pages, email campaigns, and event materials, incorporating custom illustrations and animations to increase user engagement and visual appeal.
